The first District Social Service Officer Progress Review Meeting of 2025 was held recently (22)) under the patronage of Additional District Secretary (Administration) Mrs. Kusum Bandara and the progress of 11 Divisional Secretariats in 2024 was reviewed.

Special attention was paid to the issues of this year's athletics competition for the disabled, the implementation plan for the year 2025, awareness regarding the duties of the Provincial Social Service Ministry, presentation of progress at the Provincial Social Service level in 2024, discussion of future activities related to disability and kidney disease allowances, other awareness, direct assistance, providing follow-up reports on special projects, starting the Sihinaya program, starting day centers for disabled children, and holding job fairs for the disabled.

In addition, training was provided to all social service officers on preparing rehabilitation plans under the CBR program in parallel with the event.

The meeting was organized by the District Social Service Officer, Mr. Sarath Ranaweera, and the division.

The event was attended by a group including the Headquarters Social Service Officer, Social Service Officers from the District and Divisional Secretariats, and Development Officers.
