A meeting on the preparation of the Kegalle District Industrial Development Plan was held at the District Secretariat today (28) under the patronage of Additional District Secretary (Lands) Dilip Nishantha.

Earlier, according to a concept of the Ministry of Industrial Development, District Development Committees were established at the island-wide level.

Through these committees, the necessary facilities for the promotion of enterprises including modern technology, business management, market opportunities and solutions to emerging problems are obtained and solutions are provided.

Accordingly, as another step, an industrial development plan is to be prepared for entrepreneurs in the Kegalle District. The entrepreneurs who participated in this meeting were informed about the industrial development plan by Industrial Development Advisor Dr. Pemasiri Gamage.

This program was organized by the District Planning Division including District Planning Director A. A. Weerakoon.

The Deputy Director of the Industrial Development Board, Mr. Jagath Gunathilaka, Divisional Secretaries of the Kegalle District, Assistant Divisional Secretaries, Assistant Directors of the District Planning Division, officials of the District Secretariat, entrepreneurs and a group of others participated in this event.
