A training program for social service officers on kidney disease and disease prevention was held at the District Secretariat this morning (07).

Dr. Pawani Ratnayake and Ms. Sudarshani Chathurika of the Kidney Unit of the Kegalle District Hospital explained the current trend of kidney disease, early detection of kidney disease, the tests available for it, and the prevention of kidney disease through proper diet and exercise.

District Social Services Officer Sarath Ranaweera said that this program will provide great support to social service officers in providing kidney donation, while also providing them with the relevant forms.

This program was jointly organized by the Social Services Division of the District Secretariat, the Provincial Social Services Department, and the Kegalle General Hospital.
Administrative Officer Mrs. Yamini Ratnayake, Provincial Council Senior Social Services Officer Mrs. Indumala Abeysiriwardena, social service officers serving in the Divisional Secretariats, and development officers of the Social Services Division participated in this event.
