District Coordination Committee Meeting - 2025. 06 .27
The district coordination committee meeting was held on 06 27, 2025, keeping in mind the objectives of carrying out the coordination activities between the institutions regarding the development activities of the district in the year 2025 and to make the activities related to the people's life successful in the district and to reserve a specific date to hold the district coordination committee meeting throughout the year in a more formal and timely manner. Sabaragamuwa Provincial Governor, Kegalle District Coordinating Committee Honorary Co-Chairperson Mrs. Champa Janaki Rajaratne, Kegalle District Coordinating Committee Honorary Co-Chairperson and Environment Minister, Mr. Vaidya Dhammika Patabandi, General Secretary E. Among the issues and articles discussed - damage to Tikiri Banda Mahatma's house due to Gurugoda Oya power plant, establishment of Aranayaka Dotal Oya police post, need for a new Tamil medium college for Warakapola division, conversion of ward set up for Covid patients in Aranayaka Hospital to a general ward, discussion on the status of Ambuluwa land, Sitawaka Rajamaligava precinct Estimation of getting water and electricity connection for the existing toilet system construction project, delay in renovation of Ruwanwella Tampita Vihara, construction of shopping mall and access road by Warakapola Town Urban Development Authority, getting necessary provision for Kotiakumbura water project, Weragoda - Kegalle public bus service; Getting a public bus to Navagamuwa area, getting approval from Irrigation Department to get water from Menikkadavara Community Water Project, no school for 38 scholarship children belonging to Dehiovita Education Zone, Roman Allawatta - Samsanwatta S B W section road to Beranna; Yatianthota - Bulathkohupitiya Divisional Secretariat Division 2 road development belonging to 'Jana Vasa Sama' under Clean Sri Lanka is proposed to repair Warakapola bus stand but it should be developed as the asphalt has come off and pits have been formed and filled with rain water in the environment. Attention was paid to the letters and problems regarding their rectification and it was decided to discuss with the relevant institutions to get solutions to them, to get approval from the relevant institutions and to inform the relevant institutions through letters.
Then Mr. Suchinthana Dissanayake, Assistant Director of the National Youth Service Council, about the progress of the establishment of the Youth Club by the National Youth Service Council. It was informed: " Sabaragamuwa province is leading in terms of establishing youth clubs and Kegalle district is leading as a district. So far 333 youth clubs have been established out of 573 in the district. Rambukkana 54%, Warakapola 40%, Mawanella 43%, Aranaike 56%, Kegalle 66%, Galigamuwa 70%, Dehiovita 72%, Yatianthota 100%, Bulathkohupitiya 52%, Deraniyagala 73%, total progress of 58% has been achieved so far." He further said that according to the request of the Provincial Director of Education to conduct and conclude the youth club district conference office election by July 27, school youths of the respective age groups are expected to be recruited for the youth clubs and they are expected to actively participate in the programs of the National Youth Service Council in the future.
Regarding the progress of the development programs being carried out by the District Secretariat, the government officials involved from the respective institutions presented the facts related to their respective scopes.
