Workshops and conferences are running islandwide this year to raise awareness about the National Policy of Child Safety. The primary objective here is to get the necessary contribution to prioritize child safety by educating professionals related to child safety at the district level. An awareness meeting of officers involved in the health sector of Kegalle district was held today (29) at the District Secretariat Auditorium.
Earlier, awareness was held for police officers, principals and teachers, journalists and sectors related to child protection and today its fifth program was implemented for officers concerned with the health sector.
In this workshop, the role of the Child Protection Authority, introduction of the National Policy on Child Protection, build agreements with officers to implement the targets of the National Policy and relevant ministry responsibilities and policies.
The resources were contributed to raise awareness this time by Mr. Ratnapura Child Guard Officer Ranjith Kumarasiri, District Child Guard Officer of Matale Nisansala Hemantha and Mr. Saman Kumari Abegunasekara, Kandy District Psycho Society Officer.
The program was organized by District Child Guard Officer Vinonani Kulathunga and District Psycho Society Officer Chathurika Bandara.
Additional District Secretary (Government) Mrs. Kusum Bandara and a group of health medical officers, health medical officers, nurses, administrative public health inspectors, family health care officers and public health inspectors of Kegalle district gathered at the occasion.
