The Kegalle District Secretariat inter-house sports tournament came to an end today (10) after many hot matches at Kegalle Vidyalaya Sports Field.

The last day of this tournament, which aims to develop camaraderie and physical health among the officers of the District Secretariat, consisted of many women's and men's cricket and indoor games.

The District Governor/District Secretary Mr. Mahinda S. Weerasooriya announced that this sports tournament will be held every year from now on.

Accordingly, the championship of the entire tournament was won by the Parakum team, the runner-up by the Tissa team, the third place was won by the Gemunu team and the fourth place by the Vijaya team.

The winners received gold trophies, medals and certificates as well as prizes sponsored by Mobitel.

The sports tournament was successfully organized by the district sports department, productivity department and welfare association.

Additional District Secretary (Administration) Charitha Illangakoon, Additional District Secretary (Land and Development) Dinisha S. Rathnayake, Assistant District Secretary Malsha L. Priyadarshini and other staff officers, District Sports Officer Ms. Suseema Paruswella and officials of the District Secretariat including officers of the sport department were present on this occasion. And a group of officials from other government institutions were present.
