A meeting was held today (27) under the chairmanship of the District Governor/District Secretary Mr. Mahinda S. Weerasooriya to inform the officials of the government institutions and departments involved in the respective fields related to the program to empower forty one thousand entrepreneurs in the Kegalle district in the next five years.

The introduction of this program to be implemented covering the objectives of technical and training programs, land, license and credit facilities as well as introduction of national and international market was made by the chairman of Industrial Development Board Mr. Dr. Saranga Alahapperuma.

Speaking here, the Governor said that to make the developing country a developed country, empowering the entrepreneur should be a priority. The Governor pointed out to the officers the need to merge all the line agencies to facilitate them.

Accordingly, necessary measures are to be taken to train government officials and empower entrepreneurs through the program and the Ministry of Plantation and Industry, the Industrial Development Board are to provide full intervention for that.

Additional District Secretary (Land and Development) Dinisha S. Ratnayake, Industrial Development Board Director P.L.A.Ratnamalala, Provincial Director S.A.G.Senanayake and a group of government officials including Divisional Secretaries attended the event.
