A three-day training program for the capacity building of government officials and facilitation of corporate language planning regarding the implementation of the official language policy was started today (21) under the chairmanship of the District Governor / District Secretary Mr. Ranjan Jayasinghe.

The aim of this program is to create the environment necessary to maintain harmony in the country at an optimal level by building dialogues between all ethnicities, languages, religions, cultures and social strata in Sri Lanka.

For the effective implementation of the official language policy, it is essential to get the full participation of the ministries, departments and all the government institutions, so this language facilitation program is being implemented to prepare the language plans of the government institutions.

This program is organized by the National Language Section of the District Secretariat under the guidance of the Public Service Reforms and National Language Section under the Ministries of State Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government.

For this occasion, Kegalle Additional District Secretary (Administration) Dinisha S. Rathnayake, Additional District Secretary (Lands) Gamalathge Dilip Nishantha , Mr. Bhadrani Wickramasinghe, Head of the Language Planning Technology Committee of the Official Language Department, රesource persons of the Official Language Department, representing Regional Secretariats, Department of Agricultural Development, District Secretariat, Primary Hospital and Police. A group of officials and others participated.
