A capacity development training program for Manpower and Employment Department officers attached to a Kegalle district was held today (13) at the District Secretariat Auditorium.

Here, the objectives of this training were to provide training for career guidance officers, human resource officers and development officers who have not yet received training in the relevant fields, and to develop the knowledge of the officers over time.

Accordingly, Mr. M.R.C.B. Ekanayake, Additional General Manager of the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Office, explained the current foreign employment opportunities, new trends and needs of foreign employment, including developing the skills of workers going abroad. Also, Mr. W.B. Wijesinghe, Assistant Director of the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission, added facts about the importance of vocational training for foreign employment and its new trends.

Along with this event, the progress of the HR officers was also examined.

The program was organized by the District Employment Centre.

District Governor/District Secretary Ranjana Jayasinghe, Additional District Secretary (Lands) Gamalatge Dilip Nishantha, Director General of Manpower and Employment Security Department K.G.H.R.Kiriella, Human Resource Officers were present on this occasion.
