A progress review meeting related to Saubhagyaya production village programs implemented in Kegalle district was held yesterday (09) under the chairmanship of District Governor/District Secretary Mr. Ranjana Jayasinghe at the District Secretariat Auditorium.

Accordingly, Saubhagya Production Villages-2021, Saubhagya Production Villages-2023 and Gram Shakti programs were discussed there.

The progress, problems and challenges of the current programs were presented at the level of the Divisional Secretariat and the shortage of raw materials and the increase in the price of raw materials, the shortage of buyers, the need for technical training, the need for permanent outlet in the Kegalle district or in a place where tourists hang out a lot and included many issues including the existing problems of functioning and non functioning Gramashakti Banks.

In relation to the year 2023, the projects of food packaging, betel cultivation, milk-related products, Nai chillies and mushrooms, tourism attractive economic crop products are to be implemented in the areas of selected village officers in the divisional secretariat divisions of Bulathkohupitiya, Warakapola, Galigamuwa, Dehiovita, Kegalle respectively.

The District Planning Department had organized this programme.

A group of government officials including the Director General of the Saubhagya Development Bureau, the Director of the Bureau, the District Planning Director, Divisional Secretaries, Assistant Divisional Secretaries, Deputy and Assistant Planning Directors of the District and Divisional Secretariats attended the event.
