As the second phase of the day center related motivation, digital literacy, yoga exercise and job creation program by the National Elderly General Secretariat and the District Elderly Promotion Division, many programs are organized for hundreds of elderly at the elderly day centers located throughout the Kegalle district on the 22nd and 23rd held in the Office Auditorium.
On the first day, a song enjoyment program was held and artist Surath Balasuriya, skilled communicator Saman Bandara and officials of the district secretariat contributed resources to it. After that, Ms. Chandani Alahakon, the district subject officer, informed about the maintenance of a successful gardening and Ms. Indika Jayawardena, the kindergarten officer, informed about the safety and care of the children.
The first program on the second day was awareness about first aid by Health Education Officer Mr. Upali Ranasinghe and Ms. Kaushalya Kodthuvakku also informed about nutrition and exercise for active ageing. Counseling Officer Mr. Dhanushka Ariyawansa informed the adults about the development of soft skills and positive thinking in adulthood.
The program was organized by the department including the district adult promotion officer Mrs. Dilani Kumari.
On that occasion, Additional District Secretary (Administration) Dinisha S. Ratnayake, Assistant District Secretary Malsha L. Priyadarshini and a group of members including the members of the district elders' body were present.
