An awareness program for entrepreneurs scattered throughout Kegalle district was held today (28) under the chairmanship of the district secretary/district governor Mr. Ranjana Jayasinghe at the district secretary's office.

The purpose of this meeting is to identify how to run the batik industry in an environmentally friendly manner, identify the problems and obstacles faced by entrepreneurs, and propose solutions to them.

The program was organized by the Industrial Development Division of the District Secretariat with the resources of the National Enterprise Development Authority, the Industrial Development Board and the Central Environment Authority.

Additional District Secretary (Administration) K.G.S.Nishantha, Deputy Director of Central Environment Authority R.M.S.B.Ratnayake, Mechanical Engineer Janaki Jayawardena of Industrial Development Board, officials of National Entrepreneurship Development Authority, Regional Business development officers, batik entrepreneurs engaged in batik industry were present for this event.
