The duties of the new year 2024 that has dawned were started today (01) in the morning at the district secretary's office at the auspicious moment amid Seth Pirith chanting.

After hoisting the national flag and singing the national anthem, the Maha Sangharatnaya Seth Pirit was recited by Reverend Hemmathagama Siddhartha Thero. Servant pledge given. After that, the District Governor/ District Secretary Mr. Ranjana Jayasinghe addressed the entire staff adding greetings for the new year.

Along with this occasion, certificates and awards were presented to five officers who dedicated themselves to external activities while performing their duties in the District Secretariat.
