An International Women's Day celebration was held yesterday morning (07) at the Kegalle Municipal Council Hall, which was jointly implemented by the Chief Ministry, the District women Affairs Division and the Indira Cancer Trust under the women development programs of the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council.

In this celebration, which was organized under the theme of Ayata Shakthiya - Dayata Pragathiya, machinery and equipment worth about 11 million were presented to selected women's entrepreneurship societies in Kegalle district.

Also, Indira Cancer Trust raised awareness about the detection and prevention of breast cancer. Moreover, a market including the products of women entrepreneurs was also held at the Municipal Council premises.

The program was organized by the district Women officer Mrs. Manori Dehimaduwa.

Sabaragamuwa Provincial Governor Advocate Navin Dissanayake, Provincial Chief Secretary Mahinda S. Weerasooriya, Chief Ministry Secretary Prabhat Udakara, District Secretary Ranjana Jayasinghe, Social Welfare and Industry Ministry Secretary Dinisha S. Rathnayake, Additional District Secretaries, Indira Cancer Trust Chairperson Lanka Dissanayake, a group including the Provincial Council's House Secretary and there staff, Divisional secretaries, government officials, women entrepreneurs were present on the occasion.
