"Ketai Bathai - Apekamai" local food program and a local food exhibition organized by the Department of Cultural Affairs and the District Cultural Division in conjunction with the 'Dolos Mahe Pahana' program was held this morning under the chairmanship of the District Secretary/Diplomat Ranjana Jayasinghe (18) at the District Secretariat Auditorium. 

The resource contribution for the scholarly lecture on the importance of local food and the value of a healthy life were Esmi Jayasinghe, Medical Superintendent of Kegalle Ayurveda Hospital, Honorary Secretary of the District Cultural Authority, Sunil Gamlath, a veteran astrologer, Honorary Treasurer of the District Cultural Authority, local doctor MR Senarath Bandara. 

A food exhibition was also organized today, including local foods that are currently disappearing from use, and to make this program interesting, a drama element was presented by the two artists, the Honorable Deputy Secretary of the District Cultural Authority, Hemachandra Piyadasa and Sunitha Pathiraja.

This program was organized by the department including the District Cultural Officer Mrs. Kanchana Wijeratne.

Assistant District Secretary Ms. Malsha L. Priyadarshani and a group of staff officers and office officials attended the event.
