A cultural program on the traditional "Kolam" of Sri Lanka, which has been going on for a long time, was held on the (24)th as the third stage of the series of programs held in conjunction with the "Kala Vibhashi District Literary Festival 2024" at the Kegalle Nidahas Mawatha premises.

This cultural event was organized by the Cultural Division of the Kegalle District Secretariat and it is unique that all the officers of the District Secretariat were committed to making the program a success with strong team spirit and enthusiasm.

At a time when it is not always possible to organize and hold such a cultural program easily, the kolam show presented by Mr. Anura Shantha Kumara, Senior Lecturer of the University of Fine Arts, and the Horana "Kolam Kuttama" should be highly appreciated.

The program lasted for nearly 4 hours, with dances such as Police Kolam, Nonchi Kolam, Hewa Kolam, Garayaksha Dance, Nagaraksha Dance, etc. It should be noted that the art of Kolam, which was declared a world heritage by UNESCO in 2017 as an endangered dance form, was given the opportunity to see this Kolam in practice by the G.A.C. (A-Level) students.
