An awareness and training session for government officials on cyber security was organized yesterday (18) at the District Secretariat Auditorium with the aim of introducing the Information and Cyber ​​Security Policy to government institutions and implementing the policy within their institutions by all heads of government institutions.

The resources for this were provided by Thilina Dissanayake, Cyber ​​Security Capacity Development Research, Policy and Project Manager of the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Response Division, and Shehan Manjula, Senior Information Security Engineer.

Accordingly, the officials were informed about the insecure situations that exist in the use of data, information, computer networks, systems and applications within their institutions and for personal use, and the security measures that can be taken for that.

The District Training Unit had organized this program.

District Secretary K.G.S. Nishantha, Additional District Secretary (Administration) Kusum Bandara, Additional District Secretary (Lands) Dilip Nishantha, Assistant District Secretary Malsha L. Priyadarshani, staff officers, Divisional Secretaries, Assistant Divisional Secretaries, staff officers of Divisional Secretariats, and information technology officers were present at the event.
