A discussion was held yesterday (16) at the District Secretariat Auditorium, under the leadership of Kegalle District Member of Parliament Mr. Manoj Rajapaksha, representing the political authority, and Kegalle District Secretary Mr. K. G. S. Nishantha, with the objective of informing the stakeholders involved in the construction of the proposed new alternative road from the Warakapola Anguruwella Junction to Ambepussa, and formalizing coordination among the relevant stakeholders.

Water leakages from existing pipelines have become a common sight in Kegalle Town. Whenever maintenance work is carried out to repair these leaks, the water supply has to be temporarily restricted, causing significant inconvenience to consumers in and around the town. Advanced Level exams per year and passing between 165000-170000 with a minimum of three scores and the group also qualifies for a government university annually. The student loan scheme has been introduced targeting children who do not qualify for government universities.
Around 11000 children appear for the exam annually in Kegalle district, and pass between 5700-6600. These are between 15%-18% qualifying for government universities. Looking at the results of 2024 year, people who do not get a chance for government universities from Kegalle district are taking a minimum rate of 4250. Mr. A.A. has wrongly said that if the A.N.A. targets all three years 2022,2024, will be given a chance to apply for this loan scheme.
