A awareness training program on the new pension conversion as per the 2025 budget proposals was held on 2025 06 25 at the District Secretariat auditorium under the patronage of the Chief Accountant of the Accounts Division of the District Secretariat, Mrs.S. N. Jayasinghe, and the Chief Auditor of the Internal Audit Division, Mrs.W. T. I. Jayawardena.
First of all, the purpose of this program was explained by the Chief Accountant, Mrs.S. N. Jayasinghe, and the Director General of the Department of Pensions, Mr.Chaminda Hettiarachchi, joined the program through Zoom technology.
The information was provided to the Divisional Secretariats, District Secretariats, newly appointed Divisional Secretariats, Pension Officers of Divisional Secretariats, Internal Audit Officers of the District Secretariat, Accounts Officers and Institutions Officers regarding the elimination of pension anomalies. The resource person for this information program was Mr. H. A. Nihal Piyasiri, Pension Officer, Accounts Officer, District Secretariat.
At this meeting, the issues related to the conversion of 2025 pensions for those officers, the preparation of annual salary increment, the preparation of monthly salary increment and the manner in which pensions are prepared as per Circular 10 - 2025, and the provision of 2018 salary as per Circular 3 - 2016 to retirees from 01 July 2025 as per the 2025 budget proposals were discussed at length.
This program was organized by the District Training Unit on the proposal of the Chief Accountant. To make the program a success, all the trainees of the Internal Audit Unit of the District Secretariat, including the above-mentioned officers, participated. At the end of the program, a certificate of participation was also presented to all the trainees who participated.
