The progress of social service officers is reviewed.
A meeting to review the progress of the social service officers' programs implemented for the welfare of the disabled throughout the district for the month of June this year was held today (17) at the District Secretariat Auditorium.
The meeting mainly discussed the trade center to be built for the disabled. It is planned to start with the Pinnawala tourist town in Rambukkana. The annual tour of the disabled by the District Self-Government Board for this year was also discussed.
Furthermore, the progress of the social service programs carried out by the Social Service Department and the Provincial Social Service Departments was discussed one by one and the progress was also reviewed at the Divisional Secretariat Divisional level.
This meeting was organized by the District Social Service Officer Mr. Sarath Ranaweera and the said division.
Senior Social Services Officer Indumala Abeysiriwardena, Headquarters Social Services Officer S. A. Jayantha, Social Services Officers from District and Divisional Secretariats, Development Officers and a group of others were present at the event.
