Reviewing the progress of development projects.
A program to review the amount approved for the 11 Divisional Secretariat Divisions of Kegalle District in the year 2025 through the decentralized budget and the progress of the projects implemented with that amount was held yesterday (25) at the Kegalle District Secretariat Auditorium under the patronage of Kegalle District Secretary / Government Agent H. M. J. M. Herath.
The financial allocations allocated for the projects in the Divisional Secretariat Divisions through the decentralized budget program were discussed extensively and the financial allocations allocated for each Divisional Secretariat Division are as follows. The approved amount for Warakapola Divisional Secretariat Division is Rs. 11 million. The approved amount for the Aranayake Divisional Secretariat Division is Rs. 9 million and the number of projects is 8. The approved amount is Rs. 9 million and 8 projects for the Galigamuwa Divisional Secretariat Division, the approved amount is Rs. 8 million and the number of projects is 7 for the Bulathkohupitiya Divisional Secretariat Division. The approved amount is Rs. 8 million and the number of projects is 5 for the Yatiyanthota Divisional Secretariat Division. The approved amount is Rs. 9 million for 8 projects for the Ruwanwella Divisional Secretariat Division. The approved amount is Rs. 9 million for 8 projects for the Dehiowita Divisional Secretariat Division, and the approved amount is Rs. 8 million for 8 projects for the Deraniyagala Divisional Secretariat Division. It was stated here that financial provisions have been allocated through the decentralized budget program.
When examining the progress summary of the budget program for the year 2025, Rs. 103 million has been allocated for 71 projects. The number of projects for which estimates have been prepared is 61 and the number of projects for which work has been completed is 4. The number of projects under contract is 17. Also, the number of projects under implementation is 9 and the number of projects to be signed is 31. The number of projects for which estimates have been prepared is 6 and the number of projects referred for revision is 4.
In addition to the decentralized budget program, several projects implemented under the Ministry of Plantations and Community Infrastructure were also informed here. Attention was drawn to the toilet facilities and disaster housing programs under community infrastructure, the estate housing program under the Indian Housing Assistance Program, and the provision of sanitation facilities for the estate community. Also, awareness was given about the construction of disaster shelters in estate areas, the implementation of infrastructure development in those areas, the preparation of the Rural Development Plan, the Pinnawala-Kithulgala Tourism Belt Development Program, the Rural Road Development Program and the Training of Trainers Program under the Clean Sri Lanka Program.
