The Coordination Committee meeting was held yesterday (2025 08 15) with the aim of discussing the issues raised at the Special District Coordination Committee attended by the Minister of Transport, Highways and Civil Aviation, Mr. Bimal Ratnayake, on 01 08 2025, and its progress, as well as the ideas and suggestions that should be further added in parallel with that discussion, and to follow up on it. This committee meeting was held at the District Secretariat auditorium under the patronage of Kegalle District Parliamentarian Dr. Nandana Millagala and Kegalle District Secretary / Government Agent H. M. J. M. Herath, representing the political authority.
Among the issues discussed at the committee meeting were the existence of dilapidated areas on the Rambukkana - Mawanella road; The tunnel under the railway line on the Rambukkana - Mawanella road is getting smaller; Widening and developing the Rambukkana - Kegalle road, including the Sabaragamuwa province among the special dangerous areas of Sri Lanka, identifying the essential places for traffic signals (Colour Light) in the district, installing gates at the Godagandeniya - Beligodapitiya - Hurimaluwa - Thismalpola - Malwatte Road and Gangoda railway crossings as they are unsafe, preparing the necessary plans for the Rambukkana railway station under the proposed service requirements to be developed in relation to the railway stations, taking over the playground used for inspections by the Department of Motor Transport to the Department of Motor Transport, identifying the needs of the Sisu Seriya in difficult schools and implementing the "Sisu Seriya" under the Road Passenger Transport Authority, identifying the routes where the Sisu Seriya is being operated in the Kegalle district and taking steps in the future to pay the losses incurred by the Transport Board, The issues discussed included taking steps to re-start the Kegalle bus, increasing the revenue of the depots by showing progress on a monthly basis, implementing a unified timetable on the Rambukkana - Kegalle; Kegalle - Kurunegala routes and implementing the Kegalle - Rambukkana route for 40 minutes, as well as stopping the diversion of private buses, and taking steps to inform hotels where long-distance buses stop en route.

Samantha Ranasinghe, District Planning Director (Acting) Mrs. Indika Senaratne, District Assistant Director (Planning) Mrs. Himali, Chief Engineer and other officers of the Road Development Authority, Chief Engineer - Provincial Road Development Authority, Senior Superintendent of Police - Kegalle, Kegalle; Mawanella; Warakapola; Deraniyagala Depot Superintendents, Regional Manager - Sri Lanka Transport Board (Awissawella / Rathambalawatta), General Manager - Sabaragamuwa Road Passenger Transport Authority, Station Master's Officers of Yatagama - Kadigamuwa - Ihala Kotte Railway Stations, Motor Vehicle Inspector - Motor Transport Department and Officer-in-Charge - Institute of Transport Medicine participated.
