A meeting to review the progress of the social service officers of Kegalle district was recently held at Deraniyagala Divisional Secretariat under the chairmanship of Ms. Kusum Bandara, Additional District Secretary (Administration).
Here, they inquired about the progress of opening a sales center for the disabled in the building belonging to the Ministry of Industry of Pinnawala, discussed about the trip to Tanthirimala of the District Suva Shakti Bala Mandal for the disabled, and discussed the future activities and problems related to the disabled life support and Wakagadu sick allowance.
Also, the progress of the employment program for persons with disabilities, the progress related to the establishment of Tholangamu Day Center for the disabled, the assistance program of the National General Secretariat for the disabled and the progress of July 2025 were also reviewed.
This program was organized by the District Social Services Department including the District Social Services Officer Mr. Sarath Ranaweera and the Daraniyagala Divisional Secretary Mrs. Madushani De Silva had given full support for this.
Kegalle Assistant District Secretary Ms. Malsha L Priyadarshani, District Social Service Officers and others were present for this program.
