Natural disaster (Disaster), disaster (Hazard) cannot be prevented. The only thing possible is to prepare and stay aware of those tortures. Trying to prevent something before happens while staying focused on the risk of a natural phenomenon is what can be done. According to the nature of disasters happening in every country of the world, those disasters have been distributed to 21 types. Hurricane, flooding, drought, tsunami, airlines, marine disasters, fires, epidemic, explosions, air strikes, oil overflows, coastal trash, nuclear disasters, chemical accidents, civil or internal conflicts, landslides, earthquakes are some of those disasters. Whether in the world or in Sri Lanka, any of the above disasters or disasters comes without prior notice. The loss of lives and property due to the disasters that come like that is extreme. Some of the District Divisional Secretariats who are constantly suffering from floods and landslide. Aranayaka, Bulathkohupitiya are affected by landslides and Ruwanwella, Dehiowi are two divisions affected by floods. There is no strange thing to say about the helplessness people face in a flood situation bigger than a minor flood situation. In situations like these, the government will have to spend a lot of money on disaster management, tackling disaster conditions and post disaster relief for not only Kegalle district but every district facing flood threats in Sri Lanka. The government is allocating huge amount for the above work as well as property damages in a disaster situation and the loss to the country's economy cannot be certainly assessed by money. The "National Council of Disaster Management" established on Disaster Management gathers once a third month under the initiative of the President to bring decisions on disaster and disaster management.
