District Industry and Entrepreneurship Promotion Committee Inaugural meeting

Kegalle District Secretary/Dissident H aiming at implementing a mechanism to provide solutions investigating market issues faced by small and medium scale business community in Kegalle district. M. J. M. District Industries and Entrepreneurship Promotion Committee meeting under the leadership of Mr. Herath at District Secretariat Office Auditorium.

The district aimed at the importance of establishing, networking and promoting strong horizontal and vertical connections among all relevant institutions to provide quality and efficient corporate support and services at a local level by multipartial and integrated approach The inauguration committee was established on 2025 10 23 to get solutions to various questions and issues of people engaging in all industries and business activities in the district in the background where the ministry has been approved to establish Rick Industry and Entrepreneurship Promotion councils. The District Secretary said as the primary objective of establishing the committee: "The District Industries and Entrepreneurship Committee was established and working to implement both committees, which are established at the same place, which is established by the regional level Regional Industries and Entrepreneurship Development Committee. Also bringing partially established local industries and entrepreneurship committees along with the District Industry and Entrepreneurship Committee to one place this can make this a platform to discuss the questions of entrepreneurs so far. "Officers from the government and private sector participate in the committee so they can address issues in the industry and entrepreneurship sector here."

Business is the backbone of economic development. The main objective of the government is to develop entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs who run micro, small and medium scale businesses. Sabaragamu Province Chief Secretary E who came to comment on the District Industry and Entrepreneurship Promotion Council. K. A. Mrs. Sunitha informed the council about the practical issues faced by the industrial and entrepreneurship community in the district and how they are resolved and the Additional District Secretary Dilip Nishantha (Idam) informed the Sabaragamu Provincial Chief Secretary Dilip Nishantha (Idam) about several institutions that should join the committee and Submitted some suggestions and requests regarding some shortcomings that need to be met. Among those suggestions,

Electricity Board, Sri Lanka Telecom Institute, Water Supply Board, Skill Development Officers, Job Promo Officers, Local Revenue Department are calling for this committee session

Industrialists are likely to provide them under the long-term tax system if they are not allowed to start certain industries

The Board of Commerce, Small and Medium Scale Entrepreneurs Association was attending that day as all entrepreneurs in the district could not be called so handing over the issues that have to be given priority related to their entrepreneurship to the entrepreneurship community coming to the next committee term

Small Business Section, Productivity Section, Export Development Board, Entrepreneurship Development Authority, Sri Lankan Technical Development Board are suitable to inform the entrepreneurs and industrialists in the district but many entrepreneurs are unaware of it and therefore those officers are ready to provide their service at any time

Employee vacancies or employees need specialized training can be solved through professional training institutions if employee vacancies or specialized training required

Here in the district I opened petitions for industrialists and entrepreneurs to build relationships with AA institutions and solve their problems, and received appreciation from the entrepreneur community for creating such a platform to solve their issues.
