Joining the event, Kegalla District Secretary Mr. Jagat Herath said that about 270000-280000 children are standing for A.P.S. Advanced Level exams per year and passing between 165000-170000 with a minimum of three scores and the group also qualifies for a government university annually. The student loan scheme has been introduced targeting children who do not qualify for government universities.

Around 11000 children appear for the exam annually in Kegalle district, and pass between 5700-6600. These are between 15%-18% qualifying for government universities. Looking at the results of 2024 year, people who do not get a chance for government universities from Kegalle district are taking a minimum rate of 4250. Mr. A.A. has wrongly said that if the A.N.A. targets all three years 2022,2024, will be given a chance to apply for this loan scheme.

All the institutions that offer degrees under this loan scheme are registered institutions of the University Grants Commission and the degree certificate issued by these institutions welcomes any country in the world and gives the opportunity to go to a higher job for a good salary Minister of Education and Higher Education Mr. C. Adarawattha, Director (Student Loan) of the Yanchayat said.

According to the degree course selected on loose bail terms, 8 lakhs to 15 lakhs, giving 12 years to repay the loan. Those who are currently studying a degree course at a certain institution cannot apply for credit money for this course.
