"A rich country - a beautiful life" according to the current government vision, the top triple approaches implemented by the government to make it a reality are digitalization, clean Sri Lanka program and rural poverty experience programs. A discussion on its progress and supervision work at the Divisional Secretariat level of Kegalla District in connection with the "Praja Shakti" National Program implemented by the government to eliminate poverty and ensure fair division of economic benefits within the society It was held today (22) afternoon at the District Secretariat Office auditorium under the leadership of District Secretary/Dissident Mr. Jagat Herath.
The primary aim of the Prajama Shakthi National Program is to ensure fair division of economic development benefits among all the people of the society according to the government's policy statement, to bring rural areas towards perfect development through targeted development. One out of every six in Sri Lanka is from multiple poverty. In the suffering, 95.3% of them are represented by the people of rural and estate. That too note the current govt's goal is to end poverty in every way held in all places by 2030. For that, it is very important to take people's lives to a higher level by meeting the needs of the people while prioritizing the existing needs at the rural level in order to improve livelihood development.
The government has allocated 25 billion rupees for the national campaign to eliminate poverty in Sri Lanka for 2026 and the need to work with grants on the district leading needs. For that, the relevant requirements should be identified based on direct intervention of officers.
195 community development councils in Kegalle district have been established in connection with the national movement to eliminate poverty. It was announced here that all the rest of the councils that have not been appointed so far due to the disaster situation should be established before 31st of this month. So far, the program has been informed about officers, appointed community power officers, set up committee councils, distribution of articles and established community development councils.
62 officers have been sanctioned in connection with this project in Kegalle district and today paid attention to the current progress related to the project at AA divisional level as well as ideas, issues and new suggestions.
