Kegalle district programme of 21st National Safe Day was held today (26) at the District Secretariat premises under the leadership of District Secretary/Dissident Mr. Jagat Herath.
The National Safe Day is celebrated on December 26 every year to remember the tsunami disaster that occurred on December 26, 2004. Also, this year's celebration is also the brothers who died and disappeared due to the hurricane Ditwa that affected the island since last 27. Worked on remembrance
Accordingly, at this year's celebration, for the first time there was a holiness and the respected writer of Kegalla District Legislative Guard Board, Hon. Nelundeniye Dhammadassi Swami joined for performing Buddhist religion, Hon. S.C. Thottawaththa's father for Christian religion, Kegalla Kadiration for Hindu religion. The mothers of Kegalla Jumma Muslim Mosque gathered together for the Kurukkalthuman and Islam religious conviction. Later, the pans were raised and charity was done amidst the blessings of the Maha Sangha Ratan, giving merits to all the people who lost their lives and disappeared in the face of the disaster. Yeah.
Also posted a two minute silence from 9.26 am to 9.28 am. Praying that all the brothers who lost their lives and disappeared due to tsunami disaster and hurricane Ditwa. May no untimely disaster happen in the next life.
The explanation about National Safe Day was then done by the Deputy Director of the District Disaster Management Center Mr. Deshapriya Bandara, Kegalle District Secretary Mr. Jagat Herath addressed the National Safe Day.
The celebration was organized by the District Disaster Management Center and all staffs, including staff officers, gathered at the event.
