Kegalla district program to aware community development committee chairs and secretaries in connection with the Praja Shakthi National Program which is a challenging mission to eliminate rural poverty and empower the society, Kegalla Sanasa under the leadership of Hon'ble Minister Dr Upali Pannilage on Rural Development, Social Security and Community Empowerment. It was held at campus today (29).
The community energy program is considered as a national program to overcome poverty among the main programs operated under the three towers of rural poverty, digital economy, Clean sri lanka.
Here emphasized that one in six people from the total population is suffering from multiple poverty and more are rural and estate related people. Community Development Councils (CDC) presidents and secretaries of every grama niladari division were informed here to actively contribute to eliminate that extreme poverty.
The chairman of the Regional Coordination Committee or one of his representatives is officially in power to become the chairman of the Grama Niladari Domination level Community Development Committee, and the development officer who serves in the Grama Niladari domination becomes the secretary post by the official power of the Grama Niladari Domination. Also here is the Community Development Committee organized by Grama Niladari, Prosperity Development Officer, Agricultural Research Products Assistant, Community Development Committee group of 10-15 members, Strategy members including members.
