In connection with the 78th National Independence Day celebrations, the Kegalle Independence Day celebrations was held in a glorious way today (04) by the Kegalle District Coordination Committee Chairman of Environment Minister Dhammika Patabadi and Kegalle District Secretary Jagat Herath.
Environment Minister addressed the Kegalu District Freedom Festival and mentioned that it is our responsibility to lead the country towards a meaningful revival at this moment when the 78th Independence Day is celebrated in the face of the worst natural disaster faced as a country.
Kegalle St. Maria's College and Kegalle Girls' Vidyalaya and the students of Nilmalgoda Student's Force participated in the salute parade which was conducted by the 78th Kegalle District Independence Festival, and the children of Kegalle District Cultural Center were amazed by the dance performance conducted by the children of Kegalle District Cultural Center. A group of children from Kegalla Girls Vidyalaya participated in the singing of National Anthem and Jayamangala Gatha.
A tree plantation program was also implemented during this Independence Day celebrations
Kegalle District Parliament Minister Mrs. Sagarika Athuda including District Political Authority, Kegalle Additional District Secretary (Government) Mrs. Kusum Bandara, Kegalle Regional Secretary Mrs. Priyangani Pethangoda, heads of police and security sectors including staff officers of District Secretariat Office A group of people attended.
