Following the old customs, a Siripa pilgrimage walk started today (26) at 5.00 am from Kegalle, Atala, Udugama Sri Visuddharama Temple.
This is the specialty of reaching the Sri Padasthan by walking 117 kilometers from the beginning of the journey to Sri Padasthanaya using old customs and dressing items that our ancestors followed by the old ancestors, reciting poems from the night to the Sri Padasthanaya and spending the night in a preaching padasthanaya 117 kilometers distance walk.
The pilgrimage tour which started today 26th is going to pass Pindeniya, Atala, Kotiyakumbura, Anguruwella, Ruwanwella, Karavanella, Yatiyanthota, Hakbella. The day is going to travel on the Henegama route of Ingiriya Thaligama, Kithulgala Junction, Kalugala junction and spend the night at Badullawala temple. Planning to spend the night at Henegama Temple by traveling in Ingiriyawatta, Thaligama, Kithulgala, Kalugala junction, Henega route on 27th. The case that departure on 28th at 5.00 am, travels through Lakshapana Doublecutting Junction, Kirivan light and spends the night at Wimalarama Temple. March 01st at 5.00 a.m. for the new groups going through Sapugastanna, meat, Moussakale and spend the night arana. The case which departs at 5.00 on March 02 will go to Nallathanniya and cross the butterfly mountain around 9.00 am and go to the Siripa courtyard in the evening and worship.
The pilgrimage tour was originated by veteran stage and tele drama artist, drama theater arts instructor Mr. Hemachandra Piyadasa, and it has approximately forty groups.
