A programme to get project proposals for biodiversity conservation in central mountainous areas was held today (05) at Kegalla District Secretariat.
The Kegalle district is a district that borders the central mountains and most of the biodiversity environmental areas are located within the Yatiyanthota, Daraniyagala, Bulathkohupitiya Divisional Secretariat, Kegalle district belongs to get proposals for this project.
Global Environment Faccility (GEF-8) is known as an international fund that supports global environment protection. Under its phase 8, financial support to environmental conservation projects in Sri Lanka.
In this programme held today, views and suggestions from officers of officers and environment management of institutions related to environmental issues in Kegalle district.
The program was organized by the Ministry of Environment Biodiversity Secretariat, (IUCN) International Union For Conservation Of Nature in association with the District Secretariat.
