A one-day workshop to further empower media society in schools and expand knowledge about media literacy, organized by the Government News Department and Kegalle District Secretariat today (15) The whole day was held at the District Secretariat Auditorium.
This series is operational under the advice and guidance of Government News Director General Harsha Bandara.Mr. Lakshman Gunathilaka, Teacher Advisor on Counseling in Kandy Education Zone was joined for its first lecture. Mr. A's lecture developed media skills for the school media clubs, which included many theoretical and practical activities.
The second lecture of the workshop was reserved for awareness about "Digital Journalism and Artificial Intelligence" and the resources were contributed by Professor Roshan Godaliyadda of the Information Communication Department of Peradeniya University.
The workshop was organized by the media unit including the District News Officer Mrs. Dammika Pemasiri.
Assistant District Secretary Mrs. Malsha L. Priyadarshani and a group of teachers from schools in Kegalle District were together for the occasion.
