A special discussion with parties related to contract work aimed at further efficient and formulating development works in Kegalle district was held yesterday (26) at Kegalle District Secretariat Auditorium.

 There were discussions about some of the ongoing issues by contract companies. According to bond models, minimum currency limits on tenders, standard prices on aluminum applied during construction, price hike and payments, sand price hike and bills Delays have come to the attention.

Contract companies are more concerned as there are continuous rejections due to not completing bond forms correctly. Also, the companies were informed here to work to submit bids so that the contractors do not lose. A national-level policy decision regarding price hike payments for buildings more than three months and the ongoing unusual price hike for payments for projects less than three months operational periods is set to be made ahead, which will resolve the ongoing issues. Also a policy decision to be taken in the forefront regarding the minimum cash limit of tender offerings.

The discussion focused on engaging companies that perform aluminum products, providing training opportunities to contract companies, and providing proper training to contract companies regarding bill processing.
Environment Minister Dr. Dhammika Patabadi who joined the event requested to help the success of the work with the cooperation of all parties as there is a need for an efficient development programme this year.
