The first day of Integrity Week, held under the national initiative "A Culture of Integrity – A Clean Sri Lanka," commenced today (27). The initiative aims to enhance the quality, efficiency, and transparency of the entire public service while establishing an exemplary public administration free from corruption.

Accordingly, following the hoisting of the National Flag and the singing of the National Anthem, all members of the staff collectively took the Integrity Pledge. Thereafter, Kegalle District Secretary/Government Agent Mr. K.G.S. Nishantha addressed the staff and briefed them on the objectives and significance of this national initiative.

In parallel with the National Integrity Week, an Integrity Walk with the participation of government officers in the Kegalle District is scheduled to take place tomorrow, proceeding from the Kegalle Police Grounds to Nidahas Mawatha. In addition, a series of programmes has been organized in conjunction with the national week and will continue until 31 July.

Building an ethical and trustworthy public service by safeguarding the rights of the people and acting in accordance with the law has become a vital requirement of the present time. Achieving this goal requires the commitment and collective participation of all public servants.

The event was attended by the senior officers and the entire staff of the Kegalle District Secretariat.
