The Kegalle District Coordinating Committee was held today (29) in the morning under the chairmanship of Kegalle District Member of Parliament, District Coordinating Committee Chairperson Mrs. Rajika Wickramasinghe and State Minister of Technology Mr. Kanaka Herath.

After the welcoming speech of Kegalle District Governor/District Secretary Mr. Mahinda S. Weerasooriya, the District Coordination Committee discussed the nutritional status of the district, the food security program, the progress of the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council's development activities, the status of the district in the health sector, the district's social welfare, education, housing, water supply and development progress in the fields of roads, agriculture and land affairs, the security situation of the district, etc. were discussed about the problems and progress of many fields.

Special attention was paid to issues such as traffic, water supply, drug menace in the school system and providing quick solutions.

For this occasion Kegalle Mayor Mr. G.K.Samarasinghe and other local council chairpersons and local government representatives, Provincial Chief Secretary Sunil Jayalath, Provincial Chief Ministry Secretary Prabhat Udakara, Kegalle Additional District Secretary (Administration) Charitha Illangakoon, District Planning Director A.A.Weerakoon and other regional secretaries of the district, Heads of government institutions, senior superintendents of police, government officials representing the health and education sector, journalists and others participated.
