The District Child and Women Development Committee met today (30) under the chairmanship of the District Governor/District Secretary Mr. Ranjan Jayasinghe at the District Secretariat Auditorium.

In today's society, children and women are facing various social problems and to solve these challenges, the government is implementing various programs to empower women and children.

Accordingly, in the meeting of these committees, child development and health, child abuse and safety, street children, child labour, education, women's development committees, and the existing problems of regional child development committees at the divisional level were discussed.

The program was coordinated by the Kegalle district officials of the National Child Protection Authority.

Additional District Secretary (Administration) Dinisha S. Rathnayake, District Planning Director A.A. Weerakoon, District Welfare Director T.A.P. Kusumsiri and other staff officers, Divisional Secretaries, Provincial Probation, Education, Mental Diseases, Children and Women were present on this occasion. Bureaucrats, social services, counselling, women's development, child rights promotion, child insurance, early childhood development officers, police officers and others were present.
