This year, for the Vesak week, which is being implemented in conjunction with the state Vesak festival, an awareness program on drug prevention under the theme of 'a healthy life nourished by Buddhism', organized by the National Board for the Control of Dangerous Drugs, was successfully attended by about 250 children of Deraniyagala Sirisaman National School. 

For this occasion, the Honorable Lord Sirisaman National School, External Service Assistant of Kegalle District Secretariat, S.C. Many government officials including Father Thotawattage and the Principal of Sirisaman College and the teaching staff participated.
