Osho has mentioned that man's getting closer to nature means opening an additional window to make life easier. Nature relaxes you. Puts you at ease and brings joy to life. You have to love to travel to enjoy its great beauty. The long footprints you leave behind are just as valuable as the short ones. This is the reflection of a short footprint we left to listen to the song of nature.

The Upland Railway, which is lit up with an eye-pleasing green color, meets this delicate beauty of waterfalls not far from my Rambukkana railway station. Named Meeyan Ella, this is a very beautiful stream, although it is not included in the list of Sri Lankan waterfalls. Miyan Falls, which descends from the top of the Alagalla mountains, sacrificed its beauty during the construction of the Upland Railway when it was rich with large bodies of water about a century and a half ago.

Due to the engineering decision to change the location of the Miyan Falls due to the constant disruption of the train traffic during the rainy season, the current fate of the Miyan Falls was decided. She had to hide her pain by making two thin waterfalls fall on both sides through a deep cut made along the length of the Alagalla mountain by tying the upper end of Meyen Falls, which fell down as a single waterfall.

In the past, Meyen Ella was important as one of the boundaries that divided Sath Korala and Sathara Korala, as described in an old kadaim poem.

According to a legend, once a freight train with wagons loaded with rice was traveling on the railway line built through the Meengalla Gorge, and the sacks of rice were scattered at the foot of the Alagalla mountain. Legend has that the people living in the surrounding areas who were affected by this accident washed the rice that was mixed with waste and used it. At this time, the granddaughters also came to support their elderly grandmothers saying that they were going to "bring rice to the grandmothers" and there is an opinion that after some time, they joined the Pirula population.

Miyanella has only recently become popular among local tourists. Especially with the spread of cute pictures and small videos of Meyeon Falls on social media, Meyeon Falls has become a tourist attraction. In order to remove materials including stones and soil, a hole with a small tunnel has been built on one slope of the Alagalla rock. This hole is located in such a way that one part of the rat fall, which is divided into two, is open to the cross-cut that falls. Therefore, there is also a possibility of taking beautiful photos here. Here you can see the beauty of the villages covered in green colors like Valagoda and Talagolla.

However, since this is quite a dangerous place, it is possible to avoid dangerous situations by being safe while traveling through the railway line as well as staying in the hole.
