A special discussion related to the transport problems of the district which was discussed in the recently held district coordination committee was held today (05) in the morning at the district secretariat office auditorium.

This discussion was organized to discuss the problems related to SLTB and private passenger transport services in the district and to make plans and take decisions to provide more efficient service to the people.

It was discussed here to create a more regular transport service by solving the problems of joint timetables, managing time in such a way as to minimize traffic congestion in the city, maintaining transport facilities on side roads and to remote villages, regularizing the activities of long-distance services and inter-provincial buses. It was also agreed to implement related solutions.

The trade association of Bulathkohupitiya city specifically pointed out the issues related to the transport activities related to Bulathkohupitiya city and it was also agreed to provide the necessary instructions and resources to the Srilanka Transport Board to deal with it.

On that occasion, District Coordination Committee Co-Chairperson Member of Parliament Rajika Wickramasinghe, District Governor/District Secretary Ranjana Jayasinghe, District Planning Director AA Weerakoon, Deputy Planning Director Gamini Ekanayake, Assistant Director of Road Passenger Transport Authority Chavinda Karunaratne, Sri Lanka Transport Board and Officials of the Road Passenger Transport Authority and others were present.
