A pre-retirement awareness program was held recently (20) at the District Secretariat Auditorium with the theme "Pre-Retirement Preparation - A Successful Elderly Life" on the provisions of the National Elderly General Secretariat.

Officers nearing retirement who are currently working in government institutions and private institutions participated in this, including hundreds of officers working in Kegalle District Divisional Secretariat Offices, Mawanella and Kegalle Police Stations and Kegalle Royal College, St. Joseph's Girls' College and Swarna Jayanthi Girls' Colleges. 

Accordingly, awareness about physical and mental well-being in retirement, preparation of pension personal file and advice for a healthy retirement life took place with the participation of resource persons namely Dr. Chatura Tikiriratne, Pension Officer Nihal Piyasiri, and Health Education Officer Upali Ranasinghe respectively.

This program was organized by the department members including the District Elderly Promotion Officer Mrs. Delaney Kumari.

A group of people including District Governor / District Secretary Mr. Ranjana Jayasinghe attended the event.
