A meeting of the District Swashakthi Board General Assembly was held today (08) at the District Secretariat Auditorium with the aim of planning the Kegalle District Disability Day celebration to be held on December 07, 2023.

Accordingly, there was a discussion about the financial expenses required for the District Disability Day celebrations to be held on the 7th of December at the Kegalle Municipal Hall, the features to be added for the celebration.

Also, the need to issue identity cards through the intervention of the election office for five hundred totally disabled persons and the related problems were also discussed here. Also, with the intervention of Musaco Institute, an awareness about banana patta-related products was also conducted to uplift the disabled and low-income families.

The district social service department including the district social service officer Mr. Sarath Ranaweera had organized this program.

District Governor/District Secretary Ranjana Jayasinghe, Assistant District Secretary Malsha L. Priyadarshani, District Election Commissioner Sajith P. Kasthurisinghe, Social Service Officers of District and Divisional Secretariats and members of Swashakti Board were present on that occasion.
