The Kegalle District Coordinating Committee, which examines the district's development programs including the Decentralized Program for 2024 and the Mountain Decade Program, was held today (14) in the morning at the District Secretariat.

Mr. Prasanna Ranatunga, the Minister of Urban Development and Housing Development, said that under the Kadurata Development Project, an amount of one hundred million has been allocated to each Regional Secretariat of Kegalle District and this project is to be implemented with the aim of uplifting the living conditions of the people at the village level.

The Kadukara Decade 2024-2033 ten-fold integrated development program presented under this year's budget program is to be implemented in 569 village officer domains covering all regional secretariat constituencies in Kegalle district.

Clarification of the preparation of the activity report on the construction of the pumped water storage hydropower plant and the control of unauthorized construction and the flood disaster caused by the torrential rains in the last few months of the last year, the Ministry of Labor and Foreign Employment on the 23rd and 24th of this month. Comments were also made about the job market program to be held on the day.

Also, in this meeting, the shortage of teachers in the respective divisional secretariat divisions, the repair of Sangili bridges, the development of roads, the contribution made to the success of the population census, the damage caused by the re-launch which has a severe impact on the Kegalle district, and the general difficulties and problems existing in the respective divisional secretariat divisions were also discussed. 

On this occasion, Sabaragamuwa Provincial Governor and Co-Chairman of the District Coordinating Committee Mr. Navin Dissanayake, Co-Chairperson of the District Coordinating Committee Member of Parliament Rajika Wickramasinghe, Minister of State for Technology Kanaka Herath, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Taraka Balasuriya, Member of Parliament Udayakantha Gunathilaka and other dignitaries including political authorities, municipal Secretary of the Ministry of Development and Housing W.S. Satyananda, Provincial Chief Secretary Mahinda S. Weerasooriya, District Secretary Ranjana Jayasinghe, Additional District Secretaries including staff officers of the District Secretariat, Divisional Secretaries, heads of various government institutions and departments were present.
