A one-day training workshop on 'Presentation of development project files and audit' with the aim of educating the officers of the internal audit department of the Kegalle district secretariat, the officers engaged in the internal audit departments of the divisional secretariats and the apprentice government officials attached to the internal audit department of those divisional secretariats, was held recently (24) at the district secretariat auditorium under the chairmanship of District Secretary Ranjana Jayasinghe.

H. R. B. N. Bandara, Assistant Superintendent of Audit, Kegalle Audit Office participated as a resource person to make this workshop a success and this workshop was organized under the instructions, guidance and prior supervision of the District Secretary.

Mrs. W. V. I. Jayawardena, the Chief Internal Audit Officer of the District Secretariat, explained the purpose of educating these officers, where she stated: "Every year, the organization aims to hold one workshop per quarter to educate the internal audit officers of all the divisional secretariats of the district and the district secretariat. Among the workshops that will be held today is the awareness program related to the internal audit plan for the third quarter of this year covering various areas related to the scope of the internal audit department for the year 2024." She further mentioned that the first and second awareness workshops were conducted in the last two quarters.

Addressing the Internal Audit Officers, the District Secretary said: "The internal audit departments monitor whether the programs implemented in the district secretariats and divisional secretariats are carried out properly according to the relevant circulars and instructions. For the successful implementation of the programs and the difficulties and problems arising in practical implementation The purpose of this training program is to provide the necessary knowledge for the internal auditors and novice internal auditors to develop their knowledge by constantly associating with the expert auditors I hope that all the auditors will be able to gain a better understanding and knowledge through this program to perform the problems and perform them correctly".

The workshop was successfully concluded and the internal audit officers of the Kegalle District Secretariat and the internal audit officers of the divisional secretariats participated in it.
