An awareness program on digital payments and related financial scams organized by the District Planning Division was held yesterday (29) morning at the District Secretariat Auditorium.

There, awareness was given about digital payments and related frauds and the measures that can be taken to protect against it, mobile banking, internet banking, how to catch fraudsters while making payments and how to protect against fraudulent people. Prabodha Agalawatta, Senior Assistant Director of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka's Payments and Settlements Department and Mr. Summer Mohotti contributed resources to this program.

District Secretary / Governor Ranjana Jayasinghe, District Planning Director A.A. Weerakoon, Deputy Planning Director Sajini Ranasinghe, Thilini Samaradivakara, Manager of Matale District Office of Sri Lanka Ma Bank, officials of Rural Development Bank, officials of the District Secretariat and others were present on this occasion.
