Another phase of the program to educate officials on the National Policy on Child Protection by the National Child Protection Authority was held today (05) at the Kegalle District Secretariat Auditorium.

The implementation of workshops and seminars related to the National Policy on Child Protection has been planned as an important program in the 2024 Annual Action Plan of the National Child Protection Authority. Under this, officials related to the ten fields of justice and law, education, security, health, labor and employment protection, tourism, media, information technology, children and women's affairs, and disaster management will be made aware of the National Policy on Child Protection.

Under this, an awareness program was implemented today for social service officers and local journalists in the Kegalle district.

At this event, awareness was provided about the National Child Protection Authority Act and its role by Ratnapura District Child Protection Officer W.G.R. Kumasiri, while awareness was provided about child protection and child rights by Kandy District Psychosocial Officer Saman Kumari Abeygunasekara.

Matale District Child Protection Officer Nisansaala Hemanthi provided information on the National Child Protection Policy and the implementation of its principles.

This Kegalle District program was organized by District Child Protection Officer Vinodani Kulathunga and District Psychosocial Officer Chathurika Bandara.

The event was attended by District Secretary/Government Agent Ranjana Jayasinghe, Additional District Secretary K.G.S. Nishantha and a group of government officials.
