The official activities of the new year 2025 began this morning (01) amidst the chanting of the Seth Pirith.

Accordingly, the Deputy Chief Sanghanayake of the Satara Korala Maha Disa, the Retired Principal, the Honorable Chairman of the Kegalle District Shasanarakshaka Board, the Honorable Chairman of the Pinnawala Shasanarakshaka Board, the Venerable Dunukewatte Seelawimala Thero and the Maha Sangha chanted the Pirith for all the staff and the countrymen.Thereafter, the National Flag was hoisted by the District Secretary/Government Agent Ranjana Jayasinghe. After the singing of the national anthem, a two-minute silence was observed in memory of all the war heroes and countrymen who died.

The District Secretary then addressed his staff and said that everyone should work together and dedicate themselves to a happy and prosperous society.

The entire staff then joined in the live broadcast of the launch of the Clean Sri Lanka program implemented by the new government with the aim of bringing about moral, environmental and social change in the country and standardizing the country.

In parallel with the commencement of official activities today, arrangements were made to present certificates of appreciation to four staff members of the District Secretariat in appreciation of their services.

Additional District Secretary Dilip Nishantha, staff officers and all the staff members were present on this occasion.
