At the request of the local handicrafts association, a discussion on the current problems faced by handicraftsmen scattered throughout the Kegalle district was organized at the District Secretariat this morning (20).

Special attention was paid to the existing problems including business registration, obtaining environmental permits, and exporting goods, sourcing raw materials, obtaining loans, technical and market problems.

This program, which involved entrepreneurs engaged in the handicraft sector representing all the Divisional Secretariat divisions of the district, was organized by the District Secretariat and the National Enterprise Development Authority.

In connection with this program, a number of issues related to industrialists were discussed with the participation of representatives from the Central Environmental Authority, Industrial Development Board, National Crafts Council, Export Development Board, District Office, Regional Development Bank and Kegalle Pradeshiya Sabha.

The program was organized by the District Enterprise Development Officer, Mrs. Sakunthala Priyangani and the division.

Assistant District Secretary, Mrs. Malsha L. Priyadarshani, Enterprise Development Officers of the District and Divisional Secretariats, officers related to the sectors of education, export development, productivity development, entrepreneurs and a group of others participated in the event.
