Organized by the Kegalle District Small and Medium Enterprises Association, led by the District Secretariat and the Industrial Development Board, the "Entrepreneurship Excellence Award Ceremony- 2022" was held in a grand manner yesterday (25) at Alawwa Greenlace Hotel to present awards to Kegalle District entrepreneurs who have been evaluated and won at the national level.

Fifteen outstanding entrepreneurs who won bronze, silver and gold awards at the provincial level as well as entrepreneurs who won at the provincial level were evaluated at this ceremony and a proposal containing the needs and problems of Kegalle district entrepreneurs was also presented to Minister Ramesh Pathirana.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister of Plantation and Industries Dr. Ramesh Pathirana said that many plans have already been started to protect entrepreneurs as well as facilitate them at a time when the country is facing an economic crisis.Accordingly, the minister further said that he will work to fulfill the needs of entrepreneurs in Kegalle district.

State Minister of Technology Mr. Kanaka Herath said that in order to encourage entrepreneurs to strengthen their market opportunities, at a time when the trends of using technology have grown, they are constantly working together with the District Secretariat to provide the necessary support to Kegalu District entrepreneurs.

Kegalle District Governor/District Secretary Mr. Mahinda S. Weerasooriya joined the occasion and said that the "Kegalla District Entrepreneurship Excellence Award Ceremony" which evaluates the entrepreneurs of his district, will continue to be held every year from now on. Also, in order to encourage their products by uniting all the entrepreneurs, they will hold entrepreneurship sales exhibitions in the future and prepare market opportunities for them.

The Bank of Ceylon was the main sponsor for the Entrepreneurship Excellence Awards 2022, People's Bank was the co-sponsor and SLT Mobitel and Orient Finance Pvt. Ltd. were the other sponsors.

District political representatives, Additional District Secretary Mrs. Dinesha S. Rathnayake, staff officers, Chairman of Industrial Development Board, Divisional Secretaries, Provincial Director of Industrial Development Board Mr. S.A.G.Senanayake and other staff, government officials, small and medium enterprises association. A group of members, entrepreneurs and others were present.
