The Kegalle District Customer Service Division states that 420 raids have been conducted against traders who sold goods illegally from January to April 2023 and they have been brought to court.

Accordingly, sale of goods at higher prices, sale of goods exceeding the control price, non-display of prices, sale of substandard goods, sale of expired goods, sale without details, sale of goods without SLS standard certificate, keeping goods hidden. These raids have been conducted in connection with the sale of goods in violation of the Consumer Act.

Also, through these raids, Rs. The District Consumer Authority states that a fine amount of 23,17500.00 has been charged to the government.
